Extracting DNA from Kiwi Fruit

Year 8 students, Tallulah, Tilly, Annabel, Oliver and Oscar, successfully extracted DNA from kiwi fruit last week Friday.
The students used a variety of laboratory skills including preparing their samples safely, incubating their preparations and handling ice cold ethanol to extract the DNA. We can see the DNA as the translucent middle layer trapping some tiny bubbles lying below the clear ethanol on top and the green disrupted cells solution below.
