Robert May’s Students Celebrate Exam Results 2024
On Thursday 22nd August, Year 11 students at Robert May’s School collected their GCSE results. Our students have demonstrated exceptional dedication and hard work, and we were thrilled to celebrate their achievements.
Key highlights to share include that the average grade across all subjects was above a grade 5 (a ‘strong pass’) with almost a quarter of results awarded being at a grade 7 to 9.
Whilst every student should be proud of their results, there were some individual successes to recognise including our top 6 performers who achieved forty three grade 9s (the highest grade available) between them.
A number of subjects were particularly strong for Y11s and the School: Biology, Chemistry and Physics all had average grades of a 7. A number of subjects achieved an average grade of a 6. These included: Design Technology, French, German, RE, Drama and Music.
Headteacher, Rea Mitchell said: ‘We are all so proud of our Y11’s achievement and how hard they worked both in class and in the numerous revision sessions that took place before and after school and in holidays. We are a School that prides itself on achieving excellence both inside and outside the classroom. Once again the Y11 students have demonstrated that it is possible to achieve excellent academic results, whilst also getting involved in the many beyond-the-classroom opportunities that we have at RMS.’
We wish our Y11s the best of luck as they head into the next phase of their education. We are lucky to operate in a context where there are so many excellent post-16 providers. The majority of Y11 will be starting Sixth Form in September with some students following other routes including apprenticeships.
