Year 9 Drama: Homebird
On Monday morning, three Year 9 Drama classes took part in a performance of 'Homebird' by Terence Blacker. The play tells the story of Nicky Morrison who runs away from home and falls in with some teenager squatters in London.
Each class was responsible for staging one Act. Within this the students were tasked with producing every aspect of the performance, including designing and running the lighting and sound, sourcing the costumes and set, mastering stage makeup techniques, as well as taking on performance roles. Some students developed their leadership skills further, taking on roles including director and stage manager.
This was a great opportunity for students to learn about different job roles in the theatre, as well as working as part of a larger team to produce a show.
Well done to all involved!
