Year 9 English - Persuasive Speech Competition

As part of our unit on persuasive speech writing, Year 9 students have written and delivered their own speeches to each other during their English lessons.

On Wednesday morning, it was a pleasure to hear the class winners deliver their speeches for the final time in order to select a winning speech.

We are delighted to announce that Sophie was this year's winner, with a powerful speech about equality. Jessica came second with a moving speech about suicide, and finally Hollie came in third place with an excellent speech about the dangers of banning cigarettes and vapes.

All our finalists are listed below; we are so proud of them all for rising to the occasion and speaking their minds so eloquently. We look forward to hearing more fantastic speeches next year.
