Year 7 Village Connect Trail
On Wednesday this week we ran our second Year 7 Village Connect Trail, where we took the whole of Year 7 on a 4 mile walk around the local area. We started at RMS and the walk included Odiham village centre, crossing the fields, walking alongside the canal, through Greywell and back to RMS (see the map for the exact route).
The purpose was to allow students the chance to challenge themselves to walk the distance in a set time, allow them to bond with their tutor group, help each other out and view some of the local countryside. The students were excellent – they rose to the challenge, even though for some, it was the furthest they had walked for a while.
Having watched the weather report all week, we arrived back just as it started raining and in time for the buses. There was a real sense of achievement for many students that they had made it.
Well done to all involved.
