Space Camp USA!

Two RMS students recently got the incredible opportunity to visit USA Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama!

George W:

Olly and I got to travel to Space Camp in Huntsville USA; this was one of the greatest experiences I’ve had. We got to take part in missions simulating the day to day of life of an astronaut, learning about space control and shuttle launches. We got to meet some amazing people and made some great friends from other countries who we plan on keeping in touch with. We even met a former astronaut who spent time talking to us about his past experiences. One of my highlights of the trip was the simulations Ollie and I did as they were so fun, one included being spun around every way to simulate a tumbling spacecraft. An added bonus was the food - it was brilliant.! Overall I loved the trip, the experience and the people; I already miss it.

George and I recently had the amazing opportunity to go to Space Camp USA. During our week long stay we learned about space exploration, the science behind rocket launches, and we even got to take part in missions where we were placed in different roles. Whilst we were there we also had an astronaut speak to us about his career and the different careers available within the space industry.

For me the highlight of the trip was going on the multi-axis trainer which spins you backwards, sideways and upside down simulating a tumbling spacecraft. It was an unforgettable experience and I am so grateful we had the opportunity to go.
