Year 7 Fair Trade Competition 2025

On the afternoon of Monday 31st March 2025, we went to the Blue Chair Hall for the Grand Final of the Year 7 Fair Trade competition which we split into two halves. There was fierce competition between the students - and the PDL Teachers…!
The first half was between Tutor Groups V - Z. A strong field of entrants with products ranging from energy drinks, chocolate and yoghurt with a running theme through all products that certain ingredients had to be sourced from Fair Trade providers.
After long deliberation the judges - Mr Owusu, Mrs Stanton and Mr Peake decided that 7X’s Ignite X Energy drink was the winner with particularly high scores in marketing and delivery. Well done to Libby , Ivey and Ethan.
Onto the second half between Tutor Groups P - U. Again a strong showing from all competitors this time with products ranging from dried fruits, cakes and pancakes. In the end, 7P’s Smartbox ended up the winners with its excellent concept for a product of a snack box that contained a drink, some sweet products and some fruit. An eye-catching logo and a first class presentation wowed the judges. Well done to Bethany and Arianne.
Well done also to those that took part and particularly to those that got to present in the Hall. It takes a lot of bravery to stand up in front of your peers and deliver a presentation and is a useful skill to have going forward.
